We've been using the World Wide Web in researching solid facts and sometimes soft fallacies for educational, entertainment and other purposes. More often than not, it is use to search for information that are not found in normal libraries. It is such a good
source of information that even those that are restricted by the norms of the society are found there.
Since the Internet have been around for a long time, it is but necessary for us to learn about the birth of the
helpful tool that we have today. As far as I know, the objective of having inter-networking of communication started way back 1957 when the USSR launched Sputnik, the premier earth satellite. As a retort, USA created the Advanced Research Projects Agency to launch the country's guide in Science and Technology that would be beneficial for military use. ARPAnet, world's first physical network was constructed on 1969 to link four points. It was chained using 50 Kbps circuits. ARPA was renamed Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency in 1972.
On 1974, Vint Cerf and
Bob Kahn first used the word Internet in a paper on Transmission Control Protocol. It was in the year 1983, when it was officially called Internet by the whole nation, as a short phrase for internetworking.
